After many months of planning, building, testing, refining, and plenty of late nights, I am pleased to say that Get Your Business Sorted is officially live.
The Problem I See Again and Again
This framework has been created for owner-operated small businesses that have reached the point where things feel harder than they should. From the outside, the business may look successful. You may have a solid team, loyal customers, and reasonable turnover. But behind the scenes, many business owners are carrying far too much, and the business still depends on them far more than it should.
Over the years, I have worked with business owners across a wide range of industries throughout New Zealand, Australia and elsewhere. Builders, tradies, manufacturers, retailers, service businesses, and professional firms. While the industries are different, the underlying problems are often remarkably similar.
The owner becomes the centre of everything. Staff still rely on them for decisions. Too much knowledge sits in one person’s head. Systems are inconsistent or undocumented. Communication breaks down between people or departments. Small issues get missed until they become expensive mistakes. Growth, instead of creating more freedom, often creates more stress.
Why Growth Often Makes Things Harder
This is one of the biggest frustrations I see in owner-operated businesses. People work incredibly hard to build something successful, only to find themselves trapped inside the very business they created. They feel responsible for everything. Taking time off feels difficult. Stepping away feels risky. Even when revenue grows, life does not necessarily get easier.
That is exactly why I created Get Your Business Sorted.
This is not about motivational business advice or generic theory. It is a practical framework designed to help business owners build stronger businesses with better structure, clearer systems, and less dependence on the owner. The goal is to create a business that runs more smoothly, makes better decisions, and gives the owner more control and more breathing room.
The Get Your Business Sorted Framework
The framework is built around six stages: Strategic Direction, Measure, Execute, Systemise, Automate, and Grow.
What I have seen time and again is that most businesses are not struggling everywhere at once. Usually, there is one stage that is acting as the main bottleneck. One weak point that is creating unnecessary friction throughout the rest of the business. Once that bottleneck is identified and improved, many other things start improving as well.
Clarity improves. Decision-making gets easier. Teams perform better. Systems become more reliable. The business becomes less reactive and more intentional. Most importantly, the owner starts feeling less overwhelmed and more in control.
What This Is Really About
That is what this framework is really about.
Yes, business growth matters. Profit matters. Performance matters. But for most owner-operated businesses, the real goal is bigger than that. The real goal is building a business that supports your life instead of consuming it. A business that gives you more control, more confidence, and more capacity. A business that becomes a genuine asset, rather than a job with more stress attached.
Start With the Free Assessment
As part of the launch, I have also released a free online assessment. This assessment takes only a few minutes to complete and is designed to help you identify which of the six stages is currently holding your business back.
If your business feels messy, overly dependent on you, or harder to run than it should be, this is a very good place to start.
Take the free assessment at GetYourBusinessSorted.com and find out what is really holding your business back.
If this sounds familiar, I would love to help.
