New Website Launch: Bloom Hair Studio, Timaru
One of my latest website projects has just gone live for Bloom Hair Studio, a hair salon based in Timaru.
You can see the finished site at https://bloom23.co.nz
Bloom’s manager, Naomi, had one clear priority for the new website:
“It must look good.”
As a website builder, I agreed that appearance matters, but I also wanted the site to work hard behind the scenes. A beautiful website is great, but if nobody finds it on Google, it can only do so much.
The result is a website that combines a clean, welcoming design with a strong focus on helping potential clients find answers to their questions.
Built Around Real Questions
One feature I particularly enjoyed creating was the extensive FAQ and information sections.
Many people searching for a hairdresser in Timaru have questions before they book:
- What is balayage?
- How often should I colour my hair?
- What is the difference between foils and full colour?
- How do I look after coloured hair?
- How long does a hair appointment take?
Rather than making visitors hunt for answers, the website provides clear information throughout the site.
This approach helps potential clients feel more confident about booking, while also helping search engines understand exactly what the business offers.
Why This Helps With SEO
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation.
In simple terms, it means structuring a website so that Google can understand its content and decide when it should appear in search results.
When someone searches for phrases such as:
- Hairdresser Timaru
- Hair colouring Timaru
- Balayage Timaru
- Hair salon Timaru
Google looks for pages that provide useful and relevant information.
A website that answers common questions and explains its services clearly often performs better than a website that only contains a few paragraphs of marketing text.
What About AI SEO?
A newer concept is AI SEO.
Instead of only optimising for traditional Google searches, websites now also need to provide information that AI tools can understand and reference.
When people use tools such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, or other AI-powered search systems, those systems look for clear, well-structured information that directly answers questions.
The Bloom website was built with this in mind.
Service pages, FAQs, and supporting information have been written to answer the kinds of questions real people ask. This makes it easier for both search engines and AI systems to understand what the business does and who it helps.
Features Included
The new website includes:
- Detailed service pages
- A large FAQ section
- Google reviews integration
- Online booking links
- Professional product purchase link
- Mobile-friendly design
- Local Timaru-focused SEO
Most importantly, it reflects the calm, welcoming experience Naomi and Michelle aim to provide in the salon itself.
Thinking About Updating Your Website?
If your website looks good but isn’t bringing in enquiries, or if it hasn’t been updated for several years, it may be worth looking at how well it answers the questions your potential clients are already asking.
A modern website should do more than act as an online brochure. It should help visitors find information, build trust, and make it easy to take the next step.
