WordPress Website Creation

A website should bring you work. That is the whole point. It should help people find you, understand what you offer, and feel confident enough to get in touch. Far too many websites fall short, not because the business is weak, but because the site was built without much thought for what actually drives enquiries.

I build websites with a focus on the parts that matter most for a small business. My background is technical and SEO-focused, and I bring more than thirty years of experience to every build. The goal is simple: a website that works properly, loads quickly, ranks better, and helps you bring in more business without adding stress.

What makes my websites different?

Most website builders are designers. They create beautiful sites, but beauty doesn’t always mean more sales.

I focus first on function, content, and results. Every site I build is designed to answer your customers’ questions, make it easy for them to contact you, and guide them towards becoming paying clients.

If you also want a highly polished design, I work with trusted designers who can add that extra layer of style. However, the goal remains the same: results first.

A proper build makes a big difference

Perhaps you are considering a quick-build AI-powered website creation platform.

A lot of quick-build website tools promise speed and convenience, but the results are usually disappointing. The layouts are messy, the writing is thin, the SEO is weak, and the whole thing feels more like a rough draft than something you would want to promote.

When I build your website, you get the benefit of decades of technical and SEO experience. I set up your structure, headings, links, speed, and layout so that your website has a stronger chance of showing up where your customers are searching.

This gives your business a better start than any automated tool can offer.

Why WordPress?

WordPress powers more websites worldwide than any other system. Here’s why I use it for almost every build:

  • You own it – you’re not tied to one platform or locked into a subscription.
  • It grows with you – from a simple brochure site to full eCommerce.
  • It’s SEO-friendly – the structure works well with Google and answer engines.
  • It’s easy to update – you can add pages, blogs, or products without needing me every time.

AI is great for small changes, but not for building a strong foundation

You might have seen AI website builders popping up everywhere. They can put something together quickly, but they are not much help when it comes to:

  • ranking well in Google

  • converting visitors into customers

  • creating a design that suits your business

  • loading quickly

  • being easy to expand

So I handle the initial build myself. I set up everything properly, with care and attention. Then, once the site is live, you get access to simple AI tools inside WordPress that help you make updates without needing me to do every small change.

It is the best of both worlds. I build the important parts, and you get easy, flexible editing later.

You will be able to update your content whenever you need to

When your website goes live, you will have AI tools built right into the editor. You can:

  • rewrite sections of text

  • adjust your tone

  • add new blocks

  • add new pages

  • replace images

  • tidy up wording

The design stays intact, so your changes will not break anything.

This gives you freedom without the stress of learning complicated software.

Support with Google-friendly content

A website works best when the content is written in a way that answers real customer questions. Google pays attention to how clear your content is, how it is structured, and how helpful it is for readers.

I guide you on:

  • what to include on each page

  • how to write in a clear, customer-friendly way

  • which topics help with SEO

  • what to add over time so your site keeps improving

This helps you attract more of the right customers and gives your website a long-term advantage.

Help for your business as enquiries increase

A stronger website often means more leads. Some businesses find the increase exciting, others find it a bit overwhelming.

If you need help with planning, organisation, systems, automation, or managing incoming work, I can assist through the business consulting service, Oxygen8.

This means your website does not sit off on its own. It becomes part of a wider plan for growing your business in a manageable way.

Flexible build options

You can choose the build and service level that suits you best.

Some clients want full hosting and ongoing support.  Others prefer a one-off build that they manage themselves.

The choice is yours.

Frequently asked questions about WordPress websites

Do you help me with the content?

Yes. This is one of the biggest differences when you work with me. I guide you on wording, layout, structure, and what your customers need to read so your website brings in enquiries and sales. My goal is to help you end up with clear, helpful content that works well for both people and Google.

Do I really need a professionally built website?

If you only need an online placeholder, DIY tools can be enough. If you want a website that loads fast, ranks better, and helps bring in business, a specialist build makes a noticeable difference. I focus on the behind-the-scenes setup that improves performance, SEO, clarity, and conversions.

Why not just use an AI website builder?

AI builders can create something basic, but the results are often messy and generic. They struggle with SEO, structure, speed, and anything that needs real thought. I build your website properly, then give you simple AI tools to update your content later. You get flexibility without the frustration.

Can I update the website myself?

Yes. Once your site is live, you can update your content whenever you like. You’ll have simple tools available inside WordPress that let you rewrite sections, adjust tone, replace images, and add pages. The design stays protected, so you won’t break anything by accident.

How long does a build usually take?

Most standard business websites take around 4 to 6 weeks. Larger sites, such as online shops, can take longer. The biggest factor is how quickly content and information are supplied. If you are prepared with your text and photos, the process is much faster.

What will it cost?

Costs vary depending on the size and features of your site. A simple brochure website is very different from a full online store. I will always give you a clear quote before starting.

You can view the pricing and package options here: Pricing and Plans

If the price is not what you expected, we can discuss it.

Can you move my current site to WordPress?

Yes. I can rebuild or migrate your existing website to WordPress without losing your SEO benefits. Many projects start with an outdated site that needs a fresh platform and a proper technical setup.

Do you provide hosting?

Hosting is included on some of the ongoing service plans. If you prefer to host the site yourself, that is fine. You can choose a Build-Only or Self-Managed option and install the site on your own hosting.

Can you add an online shop?

Yes. I can build an online store with product templates, payment setup, shipping rules, tax settings, and more. I also help you structure your content so customers can find what they need and complete their purchase easily.

Do you help with SEO?

Yes. I build the structure, speed, headings, and technical settings properly from the start. I also advise you on what to include on your pages and how to write in a clear way that Google prefers. This supports stronger search results over time.

What happens once the site is live?

You choose how to look after it. Options include:

  • Self-Managed ($0): You handle hosting, backups, security, and updates

  • Essentials Care: Hosting, updates, backups, support, and editing tools

  • Priority Care: Everything in Essentials Care plus monthly help and priority support.  Required for Spread-The-Cost Build customers during their first 12 months

No matter which option you choose, you will not be left wondering what to do next.

What if my business grows after the website goes live?

A stronger website often leads to more enquiries. If you need help managing growth, I can support you through my business consulting work with Oxygen8. This includes planning, systems, automation, hiring, and customer flow. Your website becomes part of a wider growth plan for your business.
